VERTICAL PLATEN GRINDER

 
 
The U.S. Model 560 Vertical Platen Grinder is designed for either wet (U.S. Model 560W, shown on the right) or dry (U.S. Model 560D) abrasive belt grinding on both roughing and finishing operations.  The compact, self contained design incorporated all standard equipment to reduce floor space and facilitate installation or relocation.

Set up is also facilitated by means of the hinged guard door which provides full access for abrasive belt exchange.  External belt tracking and tensioning controls provide fast adjustment while observing operation.

The coolant manifold delivers a constant coolant supply evenly distributed across the full width of the platen.  The tilting table provides infinite adjustment throughout 60o for maximum operational versatility.

The continuous duty motor and drive system are located within the base of the machine.  The base enclosure protects the mechanism from contamination.

The standard U.S. Vertical Platen Grinder is also available in styles arranged for dedicated dry operation with power options to 7-1/2 HP.  Custom models, horizontal or combination horizontal/vertical styles are also available to suit your individual production requirements.
